This piece has a wonderful range of colors and textures within it. At times it looks very different from your other pieces, but it is still familiar and definitely has your signature. There is a nice sense of motion around the gnarls. Portions of it appear to be trying to pop out of the page which is a very nice touch. Additionally, there are highlights in places that help reinforce the feeling of 3D. While I have seen pieces similar to this one, I find your piece still feels fresh and original. Overall I am getting an Escher-like sense where portions are flat and others are defying their medium, refusing to be caged. Quite lovely.
